Not only can bleach degrade the sealant on your countertops but it can also lead to staining because granite is porous. Always avoid harsh corrosive or abrasive household cleaning products on your natural stone. Regardless of the type of granite or seal what doesn t vary is what you should not be cleaning your granite countertops with. For disinfecting countertops use a solution of 1 2 cup clorox regular bleach 2 per gallon of water. Bleach can also help remove a color stain from granite.
