A bleach stain on a black granite countertop is unsightly and has more than likely removed the top protective coating over the natural stone. Yes clorox regular bleach 2 is safe for sealed granite countertops. Bleach as mentioned above can cause damage to granite countertops so this cleaner isn t recommended for use either. You can seal your counters yourself in about 15 minutes with the right product and process.

Using a granite sealer like granite gold sealer start by cleaning your granite then spray the sealer on the stone in three foot sections. Spray granite sealant over the countertop and leave it to seep into the stone for 5 minutes. For disinfecting our registered epa product is clorox clean up cleaner bleach. For me this is a two handed operation one towel to wash and the second towel to dry.

Mild is the operative word it s about the same dilution as used for cleaning vegetables. Remember bleach should never be used full strength for cleaning any surface it should always be diluted with water first. Bleach can be used to clean granite but if the corrosive liquid is allowed to sit too long on the material it can eat through the protective layer of sealant.
