02 Passat Will Lock Doors But Not Unlocking

I left the inner door panel off so wife could drive it for a few days.

02 passat will lock doors but not unlocking.

Until 2 days later. The door lock works in only one direction. When the other doors are unlocked the faulty door makes an unusual noise as if something is trying to move but can t. Door will not open.

Ordered an aftermarket lock assembly and replaced unit. 2 days later installed panel. The remote keys won t unlock the doors but will open the boot. If this happens the problem is with the remote.

Tested door 4 times locking and opening from inside and out. Arriving at my destination the rear door would not open from the outside intermittently. C locking was working but ds rear door not locking are unlocking then drivers door and ps rear doors jamed not to read more. So i went into the mfd and changed the default from unlocking only the driver s door to unlocking all the doors.

My 2004 vw passat has an issue where the nearside rear door will not always open when the corresponding button is pressed on the car key. Not starting then bashing the lock unlock buttons a few times. L r door lock acting up on my 05 passat. Not really logical but thought worth the try.
